How can I manually input my ip adress into my modem and how do i find it?

So when i try and connect to my internet option thing, it says "Limited or no connectivity" so how can I manually put my ip adress into my modem? and how do i find my ip adress?

please tell me step by step because i am not great with computers.

An IP address is assigned automatically to your computer when you connect to the internet. Although it is loosely dependent upon physical location, for the most part it is randomly assigned by your ISP.

You can find out what your IP address is by going to Control Panle –> Network Connections –> right click on the internet connection and go to status. look under the Support tab.

However, if the problem you are getting is "limited or no connectivity", then you will want to either check your cables, or contact your ISP.

How to change my ip adress with my modem?

You can't. your ip is assigned to you by your internet provider. if you need to change it, you need to ask them.

IP is basically an address which is used by your internet provider to find your computer. if you change it, how can anyone find you?

Hello, i recently damaged the cricket modem and im replacing it. if i buy a new one and plug it in, will this change my IP address? if not, what will change my IP address? or maybe you can help me figure this out? I typically post up houses for rent on craigslist.com, and recently i was not able too post as it appeared that i was blocked? or a victim of phishing were my info was stolen and they are using it and making me appear as a spammer etc… so, even though the folks at craigslist.com are in agreement with me that a suspicious 3rd party IP address was present or used in my account etc.. and they say theyll handle it etc… but that has not happened as craigslist does not care if you can successfully post or not, they are huge and successful, and customer service is non-existant….so, my question is, since my IP address was most likely blocked or in limbo not allowing me too post, i just wanna change IP addresses too resume my posting etc…. i find it amazing how much spam appears on Clist ea day and they post just fine… anyway, thanks guys!

i usually download programs or anything else from rapidshare and between each download i have to turn off the modem to change ip i think there should be a better of doing it by some programs made any way offer ur helpful help plz

There are various ways to change your IP address. really… you're limited by the DHCP of your ISP to changing it…

Do a google or live search on that.

Hey, everyone. I wanted to ask about changing IP address in windows vista

I am currently using Windows Vista 32-Bit and Im using wireless connection with router. I tried to search on youtube on how to do it, but every time I try to do it, my internet will go down and I cant use it

This depends on several factors. First of all, it depends if your ISP is giving you a static, or dynamic IP. If it is static, it stays the same and you might have to contact them about getting another one. However, this is unlikely. most IP addresses are dynamic, meaning they change. How often depends on the IP lease time. Sometimes you can get your IP to change by resetting your modem, or my releasing and renewing your IP, but other times the ISP will change it when they change it.

If you are behind a router, don't mistake your local IP address for your actual internet IP. with a router, one IP is used to communicate with the internet, and packets are sent to each of the computer attached to the router, as needed. IP addresses that begin with 192.168 are only for communication between you and the local network in your house (everything attached to the router). Changing this IP will not change your true IP (what your computer is identified as over the internet, not your local network)

The easiest way is to change it behind proxy server. Only what you need is free proxy server or program that will hide IP address for you like TOR or JAP.

You can find a lot tutorials and programs on http://www.proxyblind.org that will help you to change and hide your IP address.

If you have a static IP address then you have to ask your ISP to change the IP. If you have a dynamic IP that you can use a proxy to change it every time you want. You can read more here: http://www.allanonymity.com/2009/05/08/d…

im using a verizon phone to connect to the internet on my computer by using pdanet. is there a way so i can change my ip address. i have tried unpugging it and putting back in and the ip stays the same.

You're using an internal address generated by your computer. The external address (the one everyone sees) is the one your provider gives you. you can change the last octet of that by disconnecting your modem for a period of a few seconds to months, depending on your provider. But that's just the last octet. if you're being banned, that part of the address isn't in the ban, so changing the address doesn't accomplish anything.

I got this program for my iPhone and it says to enter the Ip address of the processor?

There is no such thing of having an IP address for a processor. You cannot have an "Internet Protocol" address for your processor!!

IP Address of your proccessor? that doesn't make sense.

IP Address also known as "Internet Protocal" is only used for the internet as a "reference" for your ISP. It isn't "inside" the computer, more like your router or modem.

A proccessor is a chip inside your computer that does the calculations for your computer in order for it to run. The proccessor is not the internet. if you give a screen shot or a picture it'll be more helpful.

I agree. You cannot have an IP address for your processor. The processor is the CPU of the computer. The IP is the internet address of a computer. The two are completely unrelated.

To release and renew your IP address:
Go to "Start > Run" and type "cmd" (without quotation marks), then select "OK"

Type "ipconfig /release" (without quotation marks) and press "Enter"

Once the prompt returns, type "ipconfig /renew" (without quotation marks), then hit "Enter,"

Last, type "exit" (without quotation marks) then press "Enter" to close the window.

Congrats, you now have a new IP address!

The best way is to change your IP address through a proxy. I've been using a product from a company called Private Proxy. the software will provide you with 4 different servers. You are able to choose where you want your location to be, 3 are in the US, and 1 is in the Netherlands.

When I try to do internet connection settings it just says timed out.

It's not communicating with your wireless router properly.

Make sure your connection settings are correct, and make sure the router is broadcasting in Wireless B or G, and not N.

i would think the signal wasn't strong enough

Just continue to try to connect until you do.

its not properly connected to your router

MAC Address over-limit, or limited or no connectivity with your router/modem.

If you understand networking, looking up the DHCP Client Table to see if your PS3 is registered…

So many prossiblities… So little information.

This happened to me when i tried to set up my internet connection. I figured out that when i entered my IP address i made the letters lowercase instead of CAPS. So try doing that cuz it might work
