1. Connected to your cable/DSL modem, Just remember that some wireless modem only allow 4 connections whether they be hard wired or wireless. Check with your router manufacturer to determine if this is the case. if you are hooking up your router for the first time, shut down all device included the modem. Connect the modem to the router, connect main computer by ethernet, restart modem, then computer. Install router software and follow instructions for setting up a secure network.

   When you set up a secure network, a SSID is assigned that makes each device unaccessible by outside hackers. You will use this info so that you won’t have to input this info each time. the router will already recognize this device as being a part of the network.

   Some WIFI printers have an activation button on the printer so that it is "one-touch" recognized by the router so that all devices can use the printer wirelessly. if yours doesn’t, it will need to be programmed using the secure information. the printers manufacturer will give you step by step instructions on how to do this as none are exactly alike.

   Once the printer is set up to work within your network devices you will simply print the way you would with a hard wired printer. Network issues may arise from time to time, however, for the most part, you will enjoy the freedom that wireless printing provides.

2. Sure you can. Just make sure that you have both of the ip addresses(if you have wireless printers) for the two printers so that when you hook them up, the computer will be able to distinguish between them.

3. Yes you can. But you need to have a little more information.

   Printers have three type of connectors depending on their age. Parallel Port, USB port and RJ45 Network connection jack.

   If both printers are USB, no problem, just plug them into USB ports on the computer. if you don’t have enough open USB ports, then get a $4.99 to $9.00 USB Port hub and plug it in, then both printers can plug into that. Just install the software drivers for each printer.

   If both printers are Parallel printers, you will need either a parallel A/B switch. It will have one parallel cable to go from the A/B switch to the computer, and a LPT port, 1 and 2, to go to each printer. if you don’t have the proper cables for the printers, Radio Shack or WalMart, K-Mart, best Buy, egghead.com etc. all sell them. Again, install the proper printer drivers for each printer as you have the A/B switch pointed to the correct printer.

   If one printer is USB and the other Parallel, no problem, plug them both in to their respective ports and install the drivers one at a time. It will require a reboot, generally, between the driver installs.

   Last but not least, if the printers have JetDirect cards in them, ie. they are setup to network on your home router, you just need to plug them in with RJ45 cables from your router to each printer. Install your printer software, it should detect the printers on the network and auto-assign each the proper Network IP Address and it should install the drivers automatically for each printer.

   If your printers are wireless, the same installation proceedure as the wired network, you just don’t need to connect the RJ45 cables.

   Those are the main connection types and what is required. It does not have to be difficult.
